Sustainability is no longer a buzzword or even a competitive advantage – it's a requirement. As part of our commitment to sustainability-led initiatives, ESW has been offsetting all of our delivery-related carbon emissions since January 1, 2022. Surveys consistently show that consumers expect brands and retailers to be sustainable. 

ESW surveyed more than 16,000 shoppers from 16 countries about their attitudes toward sustainable shopping and what brands need to do to earn their trust and their business.

Here's what we discovered:

  • More than 8 in 10 shoppers consider sustainability when making purchases.  
  • 64% of shoppers have significantly changed shopping behaviour to lessen their environmental impact. 
  • More than 9 in 10 cross-border shoppers consider sustainability when purchasing.
